Mompha was held in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) until his bail application was heard in the Lagos Special Offence Court in Ikeja.

Justice Mojisola Dada ordered his imprisonment after he was arraigned on an eight-count charge of enabling internet fr#ud and being in possession of forged documents.

Mompha and his company, Global Investment Limited, were charged with conspiracy to launder funds obtained through illegal activity, retention of such funds, transfer of funds for a suspect, Jimoh Olayinka Dolapo a.k.a. Nappy Boy, the owner of NapTown Records, and unlawful transfer of funds for a record label, among other things.

The charges total almost N6 billion and include sums of N5,998,884.653.18, N32 million, N120 million, and N15,960,000. Mompha allegedly concealed his interest in luxury wristwatches and other movable assets worth over N70 million, according to the EFCC.

Mompha pled “not guilty” to the eight counts, while Islamob Limited was charged with the first six counts and pleaded “not guilty.” Justice Dada postponed the hearing on a bail application filed by the defendant’s counsel, Gboyega Oyewole, until January 18, 2022.

Mompha, together with Ismalob Global Investment Limited, is on trial in the Federal High Court in Lagos on an amended 22-count charge of cyberfr#ud and money laundering in the amount of N32.9 billion levelled against him by the EFCC. He entered a not guilty plea to all of the charges.

However, what stood out for most Nigerians was the Dior designers shirt he wore.

After former Big Brother Naija Housemate Whitemoney paid him a courtesy visit, MC Oluomo, Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers Lagos Chapter, ignited viral comments with a social media post.

MC Oluomo released a video of him and Whitemoney discussing and expressing excitement about the visit on his Instagram page.

MC Oluomo expressed his astonishment at seeing Whitemoney and said that they had a nice conversation.

MC Oluomo went on to say how good it was to have Whitemoney around, thanking Olufumi of Lagos for making it happen.

He wrote: I was surprised when the winner of the BBNaija season 6, Hazel Oyeze Onoduenyi, aka Whitemoney, paid me a courtesy visit. I had a fruitful discussion with him. I must confess it’s nice having him around. Thanks, olufumilagos, for making this happen. Wishing you more height and success

Many Nigerians, however, were taken aback by MC Oluomo’s caption, with many wondering who assisted him in creating the post.

This comes just days after a video leaked online showing MC Oluomo unable to explain himself while speaking about the horrific confrontation at Idumota.

Uche Maduwagu, according to The9jafresh, recently tackled Whitemoney after receiving a signed card from former Senator Dino Melaye.

Whitemoney was seen declaring in a video released online after receiving the card that poverty would not kill him, that he had made it, and that he would sleep well tonight.

In response, Uche Maduagwu, in a post on his Instagram page, criticized Whitemoney for claiming to be made, despite the fact that his colleague Laycon had performed for Grammy.

Uche Maduaguw averred that he sees a drop of greatness in Whitemoney only if he listens to the voice of wisdom.

According to Uche Maduagwu, visiting politicians and billionaires isn’t an achievement but should focus on the restaurant business, which would draw rich and powerful men to him.

The billionaire businessman had accused Jaruma of spreading lies about him and his wife, Regina Daniels, on her Instagram page.

Jaruma was remanded in the Suleja Correctional Centre pending a bail hearing on Friday, according to Justice Ismaila Abdullahi’s judgment on Monday.

On Friday, the judge denied her bail application, stating that her confinement should not be viewed as a punishment for the defendant.

Abdullahi advised all parties engaged in the case not to do anything that could jeopardize the lawsuit’s outcome.

He said, “The court did not remand her in custody as a punitive means to penalise the defendant but to make her present and answer to her case. By this, I shall be quick to point out that the charge against the defendant is bailable but not ordinary.

“I hereby grant her bail on the following conditions: That the surety must be a level 12 civil servant working within the FCT. Also, all the parties involved in the case should stay from anything that would be prejudicial to the case.”

He, however, adjourned the case till February 23 for a hearing.
