Olamide Gbenga Adedeji (born March 15, 1989) is a global Afrobeats ambassador who has helped shape the genre’s culture.
Olamide, also known as Olamide Baddo, is a leading Nigerian artiste who works as a singer, rapper, and music executive.
Olamide rose to prominence in 2011 with the release of his highly successful debut studio album, Raspodi, which specialized in indigenous rap (Yoruba). He then released another great album, YBNL, which features hit singles like Stupid Love, Voice Of The Street, and Ilefo Illuminati.


He is the founder and owner of YBNL Records, which has produced other music stars such as Lil Kesh, Fireboy DML, Adekunle Gold, Lyta, Limerick, Temmie Ovwasa, Chinko Ekun, Yomi Blaze, Picazo, Asake, and Viktoh.

On March 15, 1989, Olamide was born into the family of Pa Adedeji. He comes from a polygamous family, and his mother is the family’s second wife. Mrs. Ronke Osisanya Adedeji is his mother’s second child. He has two siblings: an older brother, Eniola Olamilekan (also known as DJ Enimoney), and a younger sister, TemmyGold.
Olamide Gbenga was given that name by his parents. He and his siblings were raised in the heart of Bariga, a city on the Nigerian mainland. Olamide had expressed an interest in music since he was a teenager. This decision was made after discovering his musical talent, which included the ability to compose rap songs. Olamide’s career took off while he was still signed to ID Cabasa’s Coded Tunes Records. Raspodi, his commercially successful debut album under Coded Tunes, was released in 2011. Omo To Shan, the album’s lead single, helped cement Olamide’s position as the new king of Indigenous Rap (Yoruba). The single also paved the way for more incredible industry collaborations with big names like D’banj, Reminisce, 9ice, and Wizkid.
Olamide recorded and released his sophomore album, Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL), in 2013 with producers ID Cabasa, Samklef, Pheelz, and 2kriss. The project included collaborations with some of the industry’s most well-known artists, including Dammy Krane, Kayswitch, Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Reminisce.


Similarly, Olamide released his third album the following year. In November 2013, the project titled Baddest Guy Ever Liveth was released. Pheelz produced twelve of the 13 tracks on the project, which featured Ice Prince, Pepenazi, Viktoh, Phyno, and Bez as guest artists.
Eleda Mi O, Yemi My Lover, Durosoke, and Turn Up are among the top-charting singles on the album, which won Best Album Of The Year at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. In 2014, the album also won Best Rap Album and Album Of The Year at The Headies.
The follow-up album to Baddest Guy Ever Liveth, titled Street OT, was released on November 14, 2014. It is Olamide’s fourth studio album and features hit singles such as Story For The Gods and Goons Mi. Young John, Pheelz, and B-Banks, a group of unconventional sound producers, worked on its creation.


Olamide released his fifth studio album, Eyan Mayweather, on November 23, 2015, and it contains 21 songs. The project did not include a featured artist. Earlier that year, in April, he released 2 Kings, a collaborative project with Ibo rapper Phyno. The album is a collaboration between Penthhauze Music and YBNL Records.
Teaming up with Pheelz, Phyno, Burna Boy, Davolee, Wande Coal, Olamide dropped his sixth studio album titled The Glory. Pheelz executed the production of the 16-track project, and the album was released on the 23rd Of December 2016.

Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) Nation Label is a free record label founded by Olamide Adedeji in 2012. The name is slang for a small man who brings in money without engaging in any illegal activities. Although Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Lyta, Limerick, Picazo Rhap, Yomi Blaze, and others have left the label, Fireboy DML and others remain.
It won the City People Entertainment Award for best record of the year in 2016.

Olamide’s musical success has provided him with numerous opportunities to serve as a brand minister to some of the world’s most prestigious organizations. Some of these brands include Hennessy, Globacom, Etisalat, and others.
