Daniel Effiong is a well-known actor, screenwriter, filmmaker, and director. Etim Effiong was born in Jaji, Kaduna State, and grew up in several states, including Edo, Lagos, and Abuja.
He studied Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, but a desire to perform led him to South Africa to study Film Marketing, Writing, and Directing at the AFDA Film School, South Africa, as well as Film Making in Johannesburg.

Daniel Etim Effiong was born in Jaji, Kaduna State, Nigeria, and grew up in Benin City, Edo State, Lagos, and Abuja. He is a native of Nigeria’s Akwa Ibom State.
His father served in the Nigerian army. Former Lt. Col. Moses Effiong, along with five others convicted to life in prison in 1986, was granted a formal presidential pardon by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.
They were sentenced on allegations of treason concealment against the regime after allegedly thwarting the Vatsa Coup during Ibrahim Babangida’s military dictatorship, and were released in 1993 but without formal proclamation or reinstatement of positions and remunerations.


Daniel Etim Effiong attended St. Mary’s Private School in Lagos Island, Lagos, for his elementary school before continuing his secondary studies at Government College in Ikorodu, Lagos.
He then attended the Federal University of Technology in Minna, Niger State, and earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
Daniel Etim Effiong chose to change careers after a brief time as an engineer in the oil and gas industry and enrolled in the AFDA Film School in South Africa to study filmmaking, writing, and directing at the University of Johannesburg.

Danny began in university, when he used to gather friends and narrate films he had seen to them. He will sometimes make up stories and tell them about them. These were mainly of non-existent movies, and he did them when he ran out of videos to offer.
Daniel joined NdianaTV as a content producer after leaving the oil and gas industry, where he had previously worked. Daniel Etim Effiong began his acting career in 2011 with Nigeria’s first web series Goddammit It’s Monday, followed by Ndani’s TV’s Gidi Up, in which he played the infamous Folarin.
Danniel Effiong worked as an actor/character model for TV advertisements before landing the role of Adze in Generations: The Legacy, a South African serial opera. Daniel Effiong has appeared in around 19 productions in his acting career.


In 2017, he directed a five-minute-long short film titled, “Prey“, which was produced by his newly wedded wife, Toyosi, featuring Tope Tedala and Odenike Odetola.

He starred in a number of 2020 movies. He played a lead role in the movie, “Fish Bone“, produced by Editi Effiong also starring Shaffy Bello and Moshood Fattah. He was featured alongside Ike Onyema and Atteh ‘SirDee’ Daniel in the short film, “Storm“, produced by Diane Russet and directed by Michael ‘AMA Psalmist’ Akinrogunde. Still in 2020, he directed a documentary titled, “Skin“, produced by Beverly Naya.
