Osas Ighodaro Career
Osas became interested in the sector when she was about 12 or 13 years old. Growing up in the Bronx, New York, was difficult for her since she had low self-esteem and was ashamed of who she was and where she came from. She was tiny back then and didn’t feel gorgeous. Her parents then enrolled her in a modeling school in order to boost her self-esteem. She discovered her passion for the performing arts when she was there. She got a lucky break when she received a postcard inviting her to compete in an America co-pageant, and she finished third out of 147 girls. She was paid $60 for it.
That was a good beginning point for her because she went on to win several pageants after that. She did, however, take a vacation from pageants when she returned to school. She opted to compete in the Miss Black USA pageant in 2010 after completing her master’s degree because she needed to pay for a semester of school. She competed and was crowned Miss Black USA for the first time in the pageant’s 26-year existence.
Osas has appeared in plays such as The Colored Museum, Revenge of the King, Platanos and Collard Greens, and For Colored Girls. Cadillac Records, The Department, Tinsel, Gbomo Gbomo Express, and Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns are among Osas’ film and television credits.
