Rotimi Alakija, born October 16, 1980, is a Nigerian disc jockey, recording artist, and producer better known as DJ Xclusive.
DJ Xclusive rose to prominence in 2003, when he began performing at numerous nightclubs such as Penthouse, Aura Mayfair, Jalouse, and Funky Buddha.
DJ Xclusive Early Life and Education
DJ Xclusive, as we affectionately refer to him, was given the name Rotimi Alakija by his birth parents. He is a dual citizen of Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He was born in the United Kingdom on October 16, 1980, to Nigerian parents. He was returned to his home nation of Nigeria at a young age, where he completed his primary school. When he returned, he enrolled at Kings College in Lagos.
After finishing his secondary education, he returned to the United Kingdom to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Computer Science at Reading University.
In addition, he studied Financial Computing at Brunel University in London.

DJ Xclusive is a recording artist and record producer who began ‘DJing’ in 2003 at venues such as Penthouse, Jalouse, Aura Mayfair, and Funky Buddha. DJ Xclusive chose to take it to the next level by playing on Cool FM 96.9 radio at 3 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays on the Road Show, 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the Night Café, and 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays on his Party Club Mix, deviating from the norm.
Dj Xclusive has collaborated with world-renowned artists such as Nas, Rihanna, Fat Joe, Ne-Yo, Mario Winans, Wizkid, and Brick & Lace, to name a few, and has been in events such as Big Brother Naija 2013 and 2017.
In 2011, he was nominated for Best DJ at the 2011 edition of the Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television Awards (BEFFTA) Awards and joined Empire Mates Entertainment as Wizkid’s official DJ in the same year.
