Omah Lay is his professional name. Beginning as a rapper, he has evolved into an A-list singer, songwriter, and record producer whose impact has expanded throughout Africa.

The Didia family has a long history of music appreciation. Omah Lay’s paternal grandfather was a drummer for Celestine Ukwu, a prominent Highlife act. So Stanley’s parents were not surprised when their son opted to pursue a career in music.

Omah Lay Arrest
Omah Lay was arrested alongside Tems in Uganda after the artists performed a show in the country. He was arrested on 12 December 2020 for defying the ban on large gatherings, which was placed by the Ugandan government to curb the spread of COVID-19. On 15 December 2020, he was freed, and all charges were dropped.
