Korede Bello Biography
Korede Bello (born February 29, 1996) is one of Nigeria’s most promising young music artists.
He was a professional singer, songwriter, guitarist, and composer when he arrived.
He is best known as a recording artist for the most well-known record label in Nigeria, Mavin Records, which is led by music producer Don Jazzy.
He is also well-known for his hit single, Godwin.
Korede Bello Early Life and Education
Korede Bello was born in Lagos State to middle-class Nigerian parents on February 29, 1996. As the family’s second child, he grew up with an older brother and a younger sister.
His younger sister, Jasmine Bello, shared his musical enthusiasm and carried on his musical interests. Korede’s parents shared a passion for music and listened to music from two distinct genres.
As a result, young Korede was exposed to a wide range of musical genres.
His father preferred traditional African music, whereas his mother preferred contemporary music. Korede grew up in a devoutly Christian home, so he was used to hearing gospel music on occasion.
His parents observed that their son had a musical bent when he was a young child. They therefore gave him their full backing.
His father provided the guitar and paid for his music tuition. For a middle-class Nigerian kid, this was unusual because most of the families in his neighborhood primarily cared about their kids’ academic aspirations.
At the age of 7, Korede began composing music with the encouragement of his family. Korede was not permitted to spend the night at the studio because of his ideal area.
He found it challenging to balance his study and his interests. He enrolled at the “Nigerian Institute of Journalism” after receiving his high school diploma and studied mass communication there.
Then he received a diploma for a “Higher National Diploma.”
Korede Bello Career
Korede Bello was greatly influenced by African musicians like Asa and 2face Idibia as a teenager. His song “Forever” became viral on social media and caught the attention of renowned Nigerian music producer Don Jazzy.
Don Jazzy was immediately charmed by Korede’s way of singing and music and persuaded Korede to join his band, “The Mavins,” and when Don Jazzy promoted the record company “Mavin Records,” Korede was given the opportunity to sign a contract to work there.
When Don Jazzy suggested it, he changed his name back from “African Prince” to “Korede Bello.”
On February 28, 2014, he agreed to a contract with “Mavin Records,” and shortly after that, his song “African Princess” was released.
His followers enjoyed the song dearly, and it received more than 500,000 “views” on YouTube.
Dorobucci, Korede’s second official song, was created in collaboration with other members of “The Mavins” crew. In May 2014, the song was made available.
Both “The Headies” and the “Nigeria Entertainment Awards” nominated the song. In 2014, it took home the “Best Pop Single” honor at “The Headies.”
‘Adaobi’ was the following song, and it was released a few weeks after ‘Dorobucci.
Even though it wasn’t as popular as its predecessor, this song, which was likewise created by the entire band, showed that Korede had established himself as a gifted young musician.
Godwin, his first solo hit, was made available through Mavin Records with Don Jazzy who contributed backing vocals to the song while Korede handled the lyrics, production, and primary vocals.
2017 saw the announcement of Korede’s debut studio album, titled “Belloved.” Both the album’s reviews and sales were successful.
