Abiodun (Abi) Orinayo Koya (born 22 December 1980) is a Nigerian born classical and operatic singer, songwriter, poet, actress, writer and humanitarian based in the United States.
Abiodun Koya Early Life and Education
When Abby was six years old, her father encouraged her to pursue a career in music by teaching her how to play the violin and sing classical music. She began performing these activities in church and at birthday celebrations. At the age of eight, she had already begun creating songs and poems.
She left Nigeria in 2001 and moved to the United States, where she attended the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, District of Columbia, to earn a degree in Business Management. After that, she attended Catholic University in Washington, District of Columbia, to earn her Master of Arts degree in Music.

Abiodun Koya is a Nigerian gospel singer, opera singer, actress, songwriter, and poet who currently resides in the United States. She also performs in the United States. An invitation to sing at the White House as part of a celebration of black history month was undoubtedly a professional high point for her.
She was one of the prominent performers in the Americolor Opera Alliance’s production of LaRoche, an original opera about the only black male passenger on the doomed Titanic, in which she took on the character of “Madame Mae/Top Lady.”
After releasing three albums in the opera genre, Abiodun Koya has just released her debut single outside of the opera genre, a pop song called “Flourish Me.” She has committed to continue serving as the spokesman for her ancestry through the music and voice that she creates. Her collection of love poems was published under the title “The Mood of a Princess” the same year they were written.
She has also performed her music ministry at the Potter’s House in Texas and Colorado at the invitation of Bishop T.D. Jakes. This was followed by another performance at Rev. Franklin Richardson’s Grace Baptist Church in New York City.
She is the founder of the Courtesy Foundation, a charitable organization that raises money for educational scholarships for orphaned young women in African countries. She utilizes her musical platform to bring awareness to issues that affect African children and women, and she teaches master classes to choirs and college students, in addition to leading musical workshops and youth empowerment projects.
