Dakore Egbuson-Akande (Dakore Omobola Egbuson), better known by her stage name Dakore Akande, was born in Nigeria on October 14, 1978. She was born in the state of Bayelsa. Dakore represents Amnesty International as an ambassador.

The Bayelsa state born actress grew up in Lagos and Bauchi states with her siblings Timini and Samuel. She is the first child of her parents, She attended primary school at Corona School in Lagos State and Federal Government Girls’ College in Bauchi state for her secondary school. She then proceeded to University of Lagos to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, but had to drop out of school due to incessant strikes by the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU). She also enrolled in a 6months photography class under the tutelage of Dan Baba.

Egbuson began participating in movie auditions and playing small roles after joining the Nigerian film industry (Nollywood) in 1999. Her big break came in 2005 when she was a part of the film Final Game.
