He is from Enugu’s Nkanu West L.G.A. After finishing primary school, John Okafor moved to Sapele, Delta state, to live with his brother after his father died. He then worked as a hairstylist, ventured into photography, and also worked in a crates manufacturing company. He was admitted to the College of Education, Yola, after finishing secondary school, but withdrew due to financial difficulties.
