You should applaud these ten Nigerian actors and actresses who are making a name for themselves in the film industry. They are not Yoruba indigenous people, but they have mastered the language and can converse in Yoruba more fluently than some so-called Yoruba indigenous people.

1. Fathia Williams


This is a talented actress in the Yoruba film industry. Because she has adapted so well, I had no idea she was not originally Yoruba until I came across her profile online. Fathia is an Urhobo from Delta. She was born in Ukwara, a waterside local government area of Delta State in southern Nigeria, in February 1969.
2. Toyin Abraham


Toyin Abraham rose to fame in the past few years but many thought she is from Ibadan but instead she only grew up there.
The 31 year old actress hails from Edo state and born in Auchi. She obtained a Higher National Diploma certificate in marketing from Ibadan polytechnic same class with Dibie, before she proceeded to Olabisi Onabanjo University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in philosophy.

3. Regina Chukwu


Regina Chukwu hails from Enugu State and is a Yoruba film producer who has an OND in Business Administration from Lagos State Polytechnic.
She entered into the move industry 2003, starting off as a make-up artist, from there her love for acting, script writing and producing saw her produce her first movie Oguso in 2008, followed by Idaro, Akun and Ebolo.
4. Lilian Bach


During her formative years, she moved around the country, attending Army Childrens School in Port Harcourt and Idi Araba Secondary School in Lagos. She studied Theatre Arts at the University of Lagos for a short time.

Clarion Chukwura (born Clara Nneka Oluwatoyin Folashade Chukwurah on the 24th July 1964) is a Nigerian actress and humanitarian. Chukwura was born as the only daughter in a family of 4.
She is from Anambra state, popular music video director Clarence Peter is her son. His father is popular fuji musician Shina Peters.
7. Doris Simeon


Doris Simeon – though born and bred in Lagos she is a Native of Edo State, Nigeria.
She attended Primary, Secondary and film schools, Wale Adenuga’s PEFTI, and graduated in 2006. She was married to Daniel Ademonikan and they have a son together.
8. Rose Odika


Rose grew up and currently lives in Ibadan, she is from Aniocha North, Nseluku, a town before Asaba in Delta state.
Her family came to Ibadan in 1978 and they have been living there since then.

Rykardo Agbor, a model and actor who began his career in 1992, has appeared in both English and Yoruba films. He has a degree in mass communication.
