The traditional ruler of Iwo, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, recently caused a stir online with his comments on Polygamy and Homosexuality.
In a post on social media, Oluwo expressed his amazement at how the whites were able to convince Africans that Polygamy is a sin but Homosexuality is a human right. He pointed out that Polygamy is considered a crime in America, but the same people who consider it a crime promote Homosexuality as a human right.
He wrote:
“I wonder how the whites successfully convinced Africans that Polygamy is a sin but Homosexuality is a human right.Polygamy is even a crime in America… What a big joke this world is!!”
The Oluwo’s comments sparked a heated debate on social media and brought attention to the sensitive issue of Polygamy and Homosexuality in African society.

– They try as much as possible to maneuver Africans’ mentality and make us believe whatever they say is always right! Sadly, we have sold our mindset and conscience to them, that we can not even see what and what is not. As a Muslim, I might not be practicing as ought to be, but it doesn’t mean I will go for homosexuality, I will rather go into a polygamist.
– Granted, majority of us accepted monogamy, mainly because of the influence of the Christian faith as well as the obvious demerits of polygamy in creating unhealthy rivalry between wives and children born to a man by different women. Many glorious destinies have been wasted in Africa through diabolical powers in the struggle for supremacy by the wives of a polygamist. I know what I am saying because my life path has taken me through African ancestor-based spirituality, worship of deities, witchcraft practices, and deep Jesus-based spirituality!
– During colonial era, they discovered the wisdom and energy of a black Africans, So they felt disturb knowing fully well it will triumph over theirs comes the future. So they came up with a frction to divert our intellectual mindset knowing we’ll have the gullible one’s among us. Here we are today. They did a great job on many of us…
