Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as Kwam 1, has advised against giving Hajj sponsorship to the rich, stating that N4 million can be used to bring people out of poverty.
The music icon made this known in a recent video posted on social media, where he spoke about the issue of Hajj sponsorship in Nigeria.
According to Kwam 1, people often give out Hajj sponsorship to the rich, He urged those who have the means to help others, especially the less privileged, by sponsoring their Hajj trips.
He said, “If you have the grace to give out hajj, don’t give out hajj to those who have money and resources to put everything together.
We give Hajj to those who we can encourage, four million is enough to bring out someone of poverty, if you give four people 4 million nairas, they will use it to do business and gain profit, then the can sponsor herself.
You are collecting 50k naira per month, that is 660k yearly and you are dreaming to see someone that will send you to Mecca that will cost 4 million naira, where is the common sense and benefits.”
