Yoruba movie veteran, Alhaji Kareem Adepoju, popularly known as Baba Wande, has opened up about a distressing experience he allegedly encountered after the production of the Yoruba film “Ti Oluwa Nile.”
In a recent interview with BBC News, Baba Wande narrated the events surrounding the movie’s production, expressing his feelings of betrayal by filmmaker Tunde Kelani which caused delay for the release of part two of the movie.
According to him, Tunde Kelani and himself had a gentlemen agreement that he will be collecting 30% from whatever profit they make from the Part 1 of the movie but was given 15K out of 180K proceeds made.
His words,
“I was shocked and highly demoralized when I received N15,000 through Kelani’s manager from the sum of N180,000 we made from first sale”.
The Legendary actor said Kelani who happened to be his good friend gave him excuse that some people must share from the profit. He said the attitude of the ace cinematographer did not encourage him to do the Part 2 which is the concluding part.
