Oludemilade Martin Alejo (born January 29, 1993), professionally known as Ycee, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter.
He rose to prominence in the industry following the release of his song, Condo.
His popularity skyrocketed after he recorded and released the song Jagaban.
Ycee was initially signed to Tinny Entertainment before signing with Sony Music, which allowed him to reach a wider audience.
As a result, he was nominated for the 2016 Headies Award for Next Rated Artist.

Ycee was born on January 29, 1993 in Lagos, Nigeria. Oludemilade Martin Alejo is his full name. He is from southwest Nigeria because his parents are Yoruba. He spent his formative years in Festac Town, living with his parents.
As a teenager, Ycee was exposed to various music genres while listening to the radio or watching television. He developed an interest in rap music and, after motivating himself, decided to try his hand at it.
Ycee wrote dozens of rap songs in the privacy of his bedroom, which he performed in front of his family and close friends.
As he gained confidence in his craft, he began freestyling during lunch breaks, much to the delight of his secondary school classmates. His friends advised him to take his talent to a recording studio and record songs.
Ycee took their advice and frequently visited a recording studio near his parents’ voice. During this time, he was able to record a couple of mixtapes, which his community grew to appreciate.
As a result, he was invited to perform at shows and small concerts in Lagos City.
For his elementary school education, Ycee attended Dr. Soyemi Memorial Nursery and Primary School. After six years of study, he obtained his West African School Certificate from Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ojo. He studied at the University Of Lagos and graduated with a degree in Marine Biology.
Ycee Career
Ycee began professionally performing music in 2012 and quickly signed a record deal with Tinny Entertainment. He did, however, pause the music for a few moments to concentrate on his studies. In 2015, he made a comeback with the hit single Condo. The song established him as a rapper to keep an eye on.
The following year, he released the popular song Jagaban. He collaborated with Olamide on the song’s remix.
Omo Alhaji was another hit song by Ycee in 2015. He invited popular South African artist DJ Maphorisa to lend his vocals to the song during its remix in 2016.
Ycee left Tinny Entertainment in 2019 to launch ANBT, an independent music label abbreviated for Ain’t Nobody Badder Than.
In 2017, he released his debut EP, First Wave. The EP consists of eight songs. In 2018, he collaborated with Bella Alubo on the EP Late Night Vibrations.
After years of anticipation, Ycee’s fans were finally able to listen to his debut album, Ycee Vs Zaheer. The project was released on November 8th, 2019.
