Sola Allyson-Obaniyi, also known as Shola Allyson or Sola Allyson, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who specializes in soul, folk, and gospel music.
She rose to prominence with the hit album Eji Owuro (2003), which served as the soundtrack to the film of the same name.
Following Eji Owuro, she released albums such as Gbeje F’ori, Ire, and Im’oore, among others. Among her most popular songs are “Eji Owuro,” “Obinrin Ni Mi,” “Aseye,” and “Isinmi.”

Shola Allyson is a singer, songwriter, voice coach, counselor, and consultant from Nigeria. Her musical career began in 2003. She began by creating a soundtrack for a Yoruba film and later released an album titled Eji Owuro.
Allyson is a multi-faceted singer whose song genres include folk, soul, and gospel music with strong lyrical presentation. She has performed at several religious gatherings and served as a judge for MTN Project Fame West Africa auditions for five seasons.

Shola Allyson was born in the early 1970s in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Shola Allyson received her primary education at Anglican Primary School in Ikorodu, and her secondary education at Shams-el-deen Grammar School in Ikorodu.
Shola Allyson went on to study Business Studies at Government Technical College, Agidingbi, Ikeja, where she earned an NBTE Certificate.
Shola Allyson was admitted to The Polytechnic, Ibadan in 1997 to study Music Technology, majoring in Voice and minoring in Music.
Shola Allyson received an Upper Credit on her Higher National Diploma (HND).
Shola Allyson was born into a Muslim family and attended several churches, including CCC olushesi parish (apata igbala) iju ishaga.

Shola grew up in a musical family. And, at the age of 13, she began working as a backup singer. She backed up musicians such as Yinka Ayefele, Stella Monye Gbenga Adeboye, Kayode Olajide, Pasuma, and others. She also composed jingles, signature tunes, and commercials for television and radio stations.
She eventually met a man who recognized her talent and asked if she could do the soundtrack for a Yoruba film. Shola agreed and composed the music for the film Eji Owuro. Shola decided to try out the music in the studio after the film was a success. Eji Owuro eventually became her debut studio album.
Summarily, releasing the song marked Allyson’s entry into the music industry and overtime she has worked with Tope Alabi, Adekunle Gold, Cobhams Asuquo and other singers. Also, she was a judge for five seasons in the West Africa musical talent hunt show, MTN Project Fame.


The opportunity to make her first album, Eji Owuro, came when she met a man with a movie script in a public bus.
The man initiated a conversation with Shola Allyson, telling her about a film shoot he just concluded, titled “Orekelewa”. Allyson was eventually called to sing a soundtrack for the film, which led to the change in the title of the film to “Eji Owuro”.
When Eji Owuro the film was released, the studio decided to make a full music album for the film.
The album, upon release, became a huge success commercially and critically, launching Allyson into the music industry.
