Ngozi Ezeonu was born on May 23, 1963, in Owerri, Imo State, to Mr D.O Ikpelue and Mrs Ezenwanyi Joy Nonyelum Ikpelue. The veteran actress is from Ogbunike in Anambra State, Nigeria, and has six siblings.
Ngozi Ezeonu has always been interested in art and decided early on that she wanted to be a journalist. She went on to study journalism at the Nigeria Institute of Journalism after finishing secondary school (NIJ). Mr Edwin Ezeonu is Ngozi Ezeonu’s husband. They’ve been married for twenty-five years, and they have four children.

Ezeonu began her career as a Journalist. Before becoming a journalist, she worked as a hairstylist. She ventured into the movie industry in 1993. That same year, she played a leading role in the movie Nneka the Pretty Serpent. Her performance was outstanding and the movie became a blockbuster. She started getting more acting offers. She starred in another movie titled Glamour Girls which also became a hit movie.
Ezeonu has featured in many blockbuster movies including; Dry My Tears, Women of Faith, Shattered Mirror, Jay Boy Obodo Oyibo’, ‘Suicide King’, Ego Mbute, In The Beginning, A Private Storm, About to Wed, Chimobi, Mother of Faith, Love of a Daughter, Child of Pain, and Royal Adventure. In 2012, she performed the leading role in Adesuwa, it was a decisive part that helped her to gain an award for the Best actress at the 8th ceremony of granting Films Academy Awards in Africa.
She featured in a supporting lead role in her first movie titled ‘Nneka, The Pretty Serpent’. And thereafter had her break through with the movie titled ‘Glamour Girls’.
