Foluke Daramola-Salako, well-known Nollywood actress, has revealed reasons why she remained in an abusive marriage for an extended period.
She revealed this in a recent interview with TVC, the actress, who has since remarried, revealed that she initially became aware of the abuse on her wedding night.
Despite this, she stayed in the marriage because she was concerned about what others would think, and she was grateful for the children she had from the union.
Eventually, Foluke realized that she needed to leave the marriage for her own safety. Although some people were unsupportive of her decision, she knew it was the right one.
“If I hadn’t stepped out,” she explained, “if I had died there, by now I would have been a forgotten case.” Foluke understands that not everyone will agree with her choices, but she is willing to stand by her truth rather than risk her life to prove something to the world.
